If you design your bowling alley room well, it will not only look better, but your guests will have an overall more pleasant experience.
This page serves as an introduction to point you to some of the documents and web pages that will help you (and your builder and architect) design your home bowling alley.
Although we've installed bowling lanes in much smaller rooms, the typical room size for a full-size regulation-length home bowling alley is about 100'. That includes the mechanical room for the pinsetters, the bowling lane itself, the approach where the bowler walks, and a seating area. For more details on the exact dimensions for the bowling equipment and the room, visit our Bowling Alley Lane Dimensions page.
Check out the Bowling Alley Design Tips page to see a list of suggestions on how to make the bowling room look and feel just right. The following topics are addressed: acoustics, flooring, wall coverings, ceiling design, and more.
Don't forget to design a built-in storage solution for the guest shoes and balls. These are typically built by the trim carpenter, not Fusion Bowling. However, we've compiled a large number of photos on our Bowling Ball & Shoe Storage Ideas page so you can see what other home owners have done for their bowling alleys.
Other design resources for home bowling alleys can be found on our Resources page. Architects and builders may want to start with our Pre-Construction Guide, which includes technical illustrations with dimensions, lots of photos, and electrical specifications. You can also find Brunswick's floor loading specs on the Resources page.
